I could even see an airline working an arrangement out with AD that they will not actively seek out pilots prior to 20 years in exchange for be able to hire 15+ year pilots on a leave status for Indoc and then to return following their retirement after 20 years. Stranger things are likely in this environment.

I have no special knowledge of what will come. Just trying to think outside the box as I’m sure the airline hiring people are too. It will be a big fight for the most desirable pilots. If airlines can find a way of getting the golden handcuffs on a highly qualified pilot instead of having to improve the contract they will.

Wow, so that would make two. The guy I know was a part-timer, and got hired by AA in March of 2020. COVID happened and AA told him they had no idea what the future held, so he picked up an AGR gig. They offered him a job again this fall, he took it, and they let him go back to finish out his AGR tour.
