The joys of giving a crappy room to an F/A that you don't care for....what is that in Pit time again...

I need a room that's exactly 27 steps from the elevator and 39 steps from the ice maker. I need a refrigerator and microwave. I want to be able to see the sunrise, but I don't want sun coming in my room. Why aren't you done yet?

Is it possible to bid for open time trips on your reserve days? I've heard it called proffering for something like that. Can you pick up trips out of base? Like if I live in DFW but still commuting to LGA for my first year or so, can I pick a DFW turn on my off days? Does anyone that lives in base purposely bid reserve? In a way, if I got DFW eventually sitting reserve for a long time. Born and raised here and would like to stay.

On a reserve day you can proffer for in base trips. No guarantee though. I rarely get anything I want.

No you can't just pick up out of base on reserve. Which is a bummer.

I live in base now I'll be in reserve not by choice but I might bid reserve on purpose if I were more senior and bid to pass all, that being said in my experience on reserve I have flown a decent amount so I wouldn't count on a whole lot of extra time off.

Yes. Seniority helps.

As a lineholder, yes

Tons of people bid reserve intentionally. Everyone has their niche for what works for them, seniority dependent.

You’ll most likely be able to hold DFW in under a year. History says 737 will get you there slightly faster.

Not their fault but it still happened....I got my "free" month off without even having to try and IMAX is all I am saying. I got 2 kids, 7 and 9, who are busy as hell, maybe you do too, but I can't go fishing for 100hrs+ every month with their schedules...maybe I am doing it wrong but it works for me.
Would someone please explain what TTS, TTOT, IMAX, DFP, proffering, and Litesabre are in such a way that someone who’s not at American can understand? I gather that they’re ways of managing your schedule but that’s about it. Thanks!
