1st and 2nd year pay.

Hi all. Hate to ask this question but what’s a realistic income first and second year? Ability to make extra? Would be living in base.

Thanks.

Living in base, year 1 you could easily clear 6 figures. I knew a 2019 new hire who did about $120,000 year one living in base, that’s at $90 an hour. Year 2 is $137 an hour, basic rule of thumb is you show up, don’t do anything extra or avoid work you’d make around $137,000. Obviously if you hustle even a little it could be significantly more. There will probably also be pay raises this year with talks of a contract finalizing soon whether you agree or disagree with the strategy taken I can’t imagine no pay increase. Also I can’t even imagine the amount of premium that will be around this summer.

Just curious. How does premium pay work? I'll be living in base as well.

You bid for it, and/or setup a standing bid for very short notice trips. At any point an open trip can be turned premium. Generally they turn premium on short notice. Sometimes with a ton of open time they turn many days out. If they are really desperate you can be awarded one that conflicts with a current trip. That trip drops.

they pay out 1.5x and they don’t count against you for monthly credit limits set by the company

This probably won't be the case every month, but I know a few FOs on the second year pay, narrow body, on reserve who have been making over 20K the past few months with all the premium being handed out left and right.
