Isom said in his video that if a deal is reached by September something, then there will be some retro and a “significant signing bonus”. My question is why some retro? Needs to go back to amendable date, sorry.

When was AA’s contract amendable? When did you receive your last raise and what year did it cover? (At United, our last raise was Jan 1, 2019, and the raise covered 2019, so we are negotiating for 2020 and on).

think he/she is saying AA won’t make delta profits in the next 2-3 years. Not that it expires after amendable.

Our last raise was 1/1/2019. Couple things got fixed since then in Covid negotiations outside of section 6, like no more SS offsets for LTD, but pay rates are there since 2019.

Its a "2 year deal" So, we can add about 3 years to it right now. By the time we get another raise after this agreement is amendable we will have 50% less buying power than we did in 2019. ( exagerated)

No it sounded like he/she thinks that if we aren’t putting up delta like profits during the cycle of this contract, that its a moot point anyway and is worthless.

For sure. If APA even accepts this (I doubt they will) I’d be a solid no vote.

I know perfectly well how RLA works. You also know the current profit sharing plan in CBA refers to an outside plan, and that can be amended/terminated at will. CBA just says the pilots will participate in it. The language here will be critical and no-one has that yet. If they offer the profit sharing as a side letter as they have in the past, then it is not "protected" by the status quo.

How the F is AA supposed to make a profit when paying RJ pilots $600-$1200/hr?!

I’m joking of course, but the reality is AA doesn’t and likely won’t have its financial house in order and this is just a cursory glimpse at how screwed up they are in the puzzle palace.

I won’t ever subscribe to being a “I only vote no” rebel pilot, however reading the bullet points on this one is incredibly easy to say not only no, but hell no!

Agreed, that’s the way I read it.

1. We won’t be making the same profit as Delta over the course of this agreement. (So significantly less value)
2. As understood, Delta pilots get the Delta pilots profit sharing - AA pilots will get a “delta like plan” which will include many other work groups at AA. (AKA more people at a smaller pot - so significantly less value)
3. It won’t go away at the amendable date, it’s just not all it’s cracked up to be without solid language. (So worthless gain in the long run)

That’s how I see that part.
