Isom’s “threat”.
“Now we are being told by our CEO, Robert Isom, that we need to negotiate in haste, that if we don’t expedite the talks and agree on something soon, next year’s widebody flying could be curtailed”
With 22 additional 787’s coming this year, (as I seem to recall) why would I believe that Isom’s threat to curtail wide body flying next spring is anything more than a bluff? And a really stupid one at that! Am I supposed to believe that if we don’t accept management’s most recent offer all of those shiny, new 787’s will sit idle??? I don’t think so. Discuss. |
Sounds straight out of the playbook to me. Hasn't every pilot group been threatened with this at one time or another?

What’s your source?
I haven’t seen anything in this subject from the union or AA. |
Unless big concessions are agreed to (why would any pilot group make even one concessions in this environment) why is he on his knees begging for a deal?
Maybe applicants have dropped to zero and they need to increase hourly rates by 50%. |
I don’t even understand the connection between wide body flying next year and our contract negotiations. Its not like they’re trying to add a new type that we don’t have a pay rate for or something. Without a source to back this up this just sounds like a silly little rumor that doesn’t even pass the logical smell test.
