All things BOS
Local-ish guy who is curious about AA presence there as a base…
- Any latest rumors about it shrinking, growing, staying the same? - types of flying the 73 does out of there? - How long to upgrade? I’m a mid 40’s guy weighing the pros and cons of making a move. Anybody with insight is appreciated. Thanks. |

It’s a “D” category but all that really means is no extended overwater flights, so don’t expect to see BDA, etc. Could still see MEX. A mix of 1-5 day trips with 1-3 legs per day. - Junior CA appears to be a May 2008 hire. BOS isn’t too senior on the FO side, but, like the other smallish bases, those that want to be BOS based tend to post up there until they retire/die. Youngest CA is 52 years old. I imagine many end up commuting to LGA 777/737/320 for better movement. |
Great thank you that’s really helpful

They announced a BOS airbus base is coming, and then retracted that statement. The trip selection currently is not good, so a lot of guys commute. LGA commute recently made infinitely more difficult since we dropped from 8-10 flights a day to zero.

Good insight thanks. Doesn’t exactly sound like a living in base dream.

No, but the airbus base, if it happens (I put odds of by 2024 at 50%) would be pretty awesome. Bus already does that vast majority of flying there and adding euro flying on the XLR would be a tasty treat.

O and 9 out of 10 BOS trips leave on the first day and never touch BOS again until the last leg. #AAlogic |
Leave B6 for AA BOS
As someone who’s been at B6 about 2 years, living/based in BOS and looking to stay put, with a potential AA CJO how is BOS now over there? I know it’s 73 only with rumors of 321xlr doing some Europe in the future….still the case. Realistic? Seems small/senior on CA side so slow movement long upgrade compared to NYC.
anyone here made the jump from B6 to AA recently? thanks! |
Trips suck, company kicked the can on the bus base. No guarantees. NEA going away could help or hurt
