American hiring

I’ve been trying to find answers to this for a while, no luck.
Is American FO hiring qual a hard 1000 turbine multi minimum, or would they consider lower with something like a lot of multi pic piston 135 commuter and ~500 turbine sic?
Also is negative vax status still a non-starter?

I can say, no vax is no problem. Just need an accommodation.

If you’re interested in AA then apply. Minimums have been in a constant state of flux and keep changing as supply dries up. According to someone who posted on our union board after attending the mandatory PLM class (mentoring) the company said they are now looking at pilots with up to 6 violations/deviations. That seems a bit extreme so take that info with a grain of salt but the general idea is they need applicants. 2000+ hires this year and the available pilot supply is dwindling.

That sounds a bit terrifying.

Ways to attract qualified pilots:
  • Eliminate probationary pay altogether
  • DC starts year one
  • Year 2 pay starts at year 2, not 15 months
  • More bases... AUS?
  • Virtual bases
  • Home basing
  • Modern computer systems
  • Retiring flight attendants
  • Immediately retiring all gate agents who still have Dallas hair

I did have an LAX FA that said he’s too old and weak to open door. Mandatory requirement age 40.
