MIA 737 is the most junior base each class.

edit

let me add that it is so junior that CJO's can hold MIA if they want before class even starts

Wow! I didn’t know it’s that junior lol! Do you know how long it would take to upgrade to a wide body and to a captain?

not sure about either. LGA 737 Capt is reportedly 2 to 2.5 from new hire

wide body FO, not sure. 4-ish years?

Rule: work for the major in/near the city you live in

period, the end

Both good options but I’ll leave this here. At AA, you’re guaranteed to have MIA forever. It isn’t going to go anywhere. MCO with UA is new, it’s small (only 737) and definitely will be more senior. Ask UA folks that were MIA based how it worked out for them in 2004 when UA closed its MIA Crew base there.

Personally, unless you have other reasons for UA or would be ok with possibility becoming a commuter one day if it doesn’t work out in MCO, I’d go to AA. All 4 metals fly out of MIA, it isn’t going anywhere. Good luck!

I did not know MCO was only a 737, i wanted United because of the wide body fleet and hearing that new pilots are getting 757/767. Thank you for the information I appreciate it!

By “all 4 metals” do you mean different airplanes?
