You will get it in PHL. That said, having the LA qual has nothing to do with you getting awarded DFW “I”. They give you that if you can hold it. So the best scenario is actually to not have the qual and get DFW “I” and fall through the cracks, where they can’t use you for as many trips. This would involve getting LGA “D” to start with and wouldn’t be worth it. But if you could get DFW D that’d be the best way to start.

Honestly, want to fly and see things outside the US. That’s the whole reason I want the extra qual. More places I can go. Don’t want to keep going to places like MCI, CVG, CMH, etc.

Then try to get MIA first so you can get LT (Latin Terrain). But don’t get mad when you’re in DFW sitting reserve and they deadhead you to MIA cause you’re the only available LT guy.

Not a problem. And I guess I did ask incorrectly in my first post. I was specifically wanting the LT qual. So is that NOT going to happen out of PHL? Because that will affect what I want to bid.

There is no guarantee that you will get it in PHL. It depends on the trips assigned to you for IOE by flight standards. Some in my class got it, I did not.

They can send you down the MIA for the LA sign off. Might even catch a LT trip.

I promise you you won’t want the LT qual after being abused on reserve, being in the bottom bucket because you have the most hours but still getting called ahead of 20 others because you’re the only one that can dhd to JFK, fly to BOG, fly the redeye back the next night to JFK and dhd back to base. Be careful what you wish for. It’ll come with time.

Starting in July at 35, I understand probably not old enough to snag a PHL spot right away but try to get a 320. However, how long until it is likely to bid into PHL?

Ill be living 30 min from base, overall how's the QOL here?

I thought all DFW 320 is D not I. Somebody square this guy away when able
