Interview with No ATP Practical

A few weeks ago, using the new AAL app website, I quickly filled out an application without any intention of getting any interest.. I wanted to see what the app looked like compared to DAL/United etc. and I clearly selected "No" for "Unrestricted ATP Certificate" and "Restricted ATP Certificate," and had put minimal effort in so far (no recs/references/resume etc.). I have plans to complete my ATP practical before I'm available (Q1 2024), but since I didn't even meet the minimum criteria, I assumed they wouldn't even look at my app.
Well... they sent me the assessment, and apparently I passed and they gave me an interview date. However, I haven't seen anywhere that AAL has dropped the ATP practical requirement. Has this happened to anyone else? Have they dropped the requirement? Thought I'd ask here before I reach out to them and let them know that I don't have the minimum qualifications. Also considering not even mentioning it... they looked at my app, and liked it enough to send me an invite. If they missed the part where I said I don't have an ATP practical... this is kind of on them?

I agree with clarifying before you schedule an interview slot. You're going to have to show your ATP on interview day and there's no "bank error in your favor" with FAA rules or hiring rules. If it were me, I wouldn't want to explain the situation at AAL for the 1st time, especially if they say they are unable to hire you based on the FAA license status.
Have you completed the ATP-CTP and written?

Clearly, you have the EXPERIENCE they are looking for, if not the certification. While I agree that you want to make sure that AA is indeed OK with it, but obviously you can do a type ride and receive your ATP at the same time, Regionals and now I think at least Frontier is doing it, although I think they are making you get the type rating first. That being said, since they don’t do it, AA may not have check airmen that are blessed to issue the ATP. Someone else can chime in, but I do think that is a specific blessing from the FAA.

Thanks for the advice so far! And yes, I did ATP-CTP and written. I have the practical scheduled in August, but have the interview in July.
I know Delta doesn't require the Practical, and United at one point said they weren't going to require it (unknown if they followed through). Good point about the check Airmen, I don't know how that process works.

You can’t even proceed to the application now (or ever?) without selecting “yes” to all questions on https://pilots.aa.com/signup , which includes “Do you have an unrestricted ATP certificate”
