I'm pretty sure the BOD wanted to take the CnR board offline.
I have seen screen shots of posts on there on twitter from a well renowned Aviation blogger (names redacted) and some of the stuff that was posted on there had really bad optics.
Racist/classest/conspiracy theory/nut job kind of optics.
Unfortunate because it also had a lot of solid info.

The big difference is that even though the forum has zero anonymity, these guys still go at it toe to toe and don’t hold back at all. They own it all. Proudly.

I think that's the best argument for maintaining the APA forum, unfortunately. Just imagine if those members figured out how to make a user account here, where they're "anonymous".

At least here the mods have some balls and actually moderate content that violates forum rules. The Line makes APC look tame by comparison.

The rumors of what was posted to cause "The Watercooler" to get canned (I never had access) were......not good.

I roll through The Line a few times a week since I don't have any social media. Some of the content that gets posted on there is positively beyond reproach. The first thing that needs to be done is remove retiree access to the main forums. Some of the worst offenders on there haven't turned a wheel for AA in over a decade and use the forum as their personal trolling playground.

Are our bank accounts tied to monthly dues for PMA/POD/Life insurance jeopardized now?
Are our DECS password and company access jeopardized?
Who did APA contract out cyber security to and were they properly vetted?

I know they are doing their best, but they need to set up some form of aux comm capability.
FWIW I don't use my real phone # associated with the APA or company, and the passwords are also different (my email associated with APA has a different password than the APA password as well). APA does have my address and DOB, which I understand is already out there, but it's one more thing they can leak. There was a scam involving T Mobile phone numbers (stealing their esims) and filing taxes of "rich" pilots to maximize refund dollars some time ago (but post merger). When hired I initially refused to give APA my DOB, eventually they successfully threatened me enough I had to do it.
