CJOs From PAPA 2024?
So did anyone recieve on-the-spot CJOs from the PAPA event, held in Las Vegas, June 3-5, 2024?
For those who did receive CJOs (From American or other legacy as well as any majors/LCCs) at this event, it will be great to learn how many hours/Total Flight Time etc. you had that made you competitive. It has been a week since the event, and I know a lot of candidates who did attend the PAPA event, and especially did have the invitation-only meet-and-greet with AA, have not heard anything back (so far). It will be nice to learn what the rest are up against, if we will have a better shot at updating our apps at AA in time for RTAG, or just readjust our goals to hiring events in 2025. |

AA get tons of applications and it takes AA a bit longer to go thru them than say united. I attended WAI and did meets with both AA and United: United emailed me 48 hours after the conference and I secured an interview a week after. AA took weeks to respond and eventually took until PAPA for me to get an interview/CJO. Take everything with a grain of salt. Hope this helps / puts your mind at ease. |

I know most people focus on hours, but having talked to the other 15 who also recieved CJO's with me, their hours ranged, and their PIC times ranged even more. So I wouldn't scope-lock on just the hours aa the only metric.

However, one of the CJO's had less than 2000 Turbine (I think 1900 and only a few hundred PIC).

Just to clarify, if I didn't have an invitation-only meet-and-greet, but was able to wait in line and talk with a recruiter (Captain)/review resume, is that considered a meet-and-greet also, or something lesser/different? Thanks!

I already had my invitation-only meet-and-greet on the 4th. On that day I remember a lot of candidates were inquiring me, and others in line, on how they could get in line for an impromptu meet-and-greet. I myself, hung around on the 5th as well and saw that the AA booth was quite occupied and was wondering myself if any on-the-spots did get accomodated that day. So I am glad to learn that you did get that opportunity. Hopefully, others reading this will also not just give up without trying. Let us know if you do hear something back and I will do the same! |
Thank you kindly. Sadly, it is a moot point now
