How exactly would those 3ish lists be integrated? And given the shape USAir is in as far as their merger is concerned how would creditors and wall street folks really feel about trusting them to merge with the storied, gigantic and powerful American Airlines?

I think APA being able to oust a USAPA would be the best possible scenario for the AMWest pilots. The APA would win a representational election, and seeing that the Nic Award is the list, regardless of a single contract, the next list integration would use the Nic and the AA list to craft the new deal. USAPA and the tactics they used would be gone for good, and they could all move on from the mess.

Oh, and if the USAPA Merger Comm. tried to hose the West pilots in the new list with positions that were below those of the East pilots that they were above in the Nic Award, and the new contract and list were being actively completed, it might just make the case "ripe" for the DFR to finally settle the case once and for all.

Easy. US Airways is making money, AMR is not. AMR is near bankruptcy, US Airways is not. Airways can get the financing to merge with AA. Or a hostile takeover is possible, however not likely. (similar to Airways almost taking over DAL a few years ago). Of course the new company would retain the AA brand name.

AMR bankruptcy will force the hand of APA to concede, and fear of job loss during merger will force USAPA to play nice, especially since APA has a history of pulling out the stapler.

Whatever the outcome of AMR and CH11, I do not see LCC and AMR merging as two full entities. I suspect a fragmentation of assets with at least one more carrier being part of that consolidation.

Who knows though. The whole thing sucks for the employees.

DAL, what happened to your stock price after the official Ch 11 filing occurred ? Did it bounce back up ?

Thoughts ?

Stock held before the filing became worthless. New stock sold on the re-emergence from BK.

That's what the Eagle divestiture is turning into. American can't do an IPO while realistically providing guidance for Eagle as a stand alone F4D airline which just lost their only client.

American's bankruptcy, if pre packaged, would have to be laid out in the documents for Eagle's IPO. So, the IPO is DOA.

Eagle gave up its Section 1 in response to a false threat.

It also reveals American wasn't thinking before announcing their intent to burn that piece of furniture this winter.

The only way out is SkyWest. Republic's about sunk itself. Someone call Embraer and ask if they want those airplanes in Brazil, or baking in the sun at a US airport.

AMR has a legit chance of filing BK, I wouldnt touch their stock. If you really have to buy some airline stock go with companies that have been beaten down unfairly (relative) like Alaska, Jetblue, even DAL and UAL would be decent.
