Pilots cabin Crew,Mechanics, Ramp, Customer Service, Dispatch etc.?? United went too far into the Lean and hacked off pieces of Bone and it showed in our service. American Management might not want to make that mistake, Though I doubt they're any brighter than UAL's Managment..

After the company presents the plan they will begin negotiating with unions, so the final numbers of lost jobs lost may change.
A fear grenade has been thrown.

UAL considered pilots/FA's/Mechs/rampers/agents in the fat category, one-and-all, by design. Your analogy is interesting, end state is that labor is the easiest to target and utilize to reduce expenditures (next to A/C lease terms). Labor has, and will continue to be the first option for Mgmt to target, gut, and outsource. Just my $.02.

Default AMR is not GM

I don't expect AMR will get any special favors or deals from the WH.

What favors, if any, in your estimation do you think AA needs from the WH?

The BK judge with input from the secured and unsecured creditors committees will determine what plan is ultimately approved!

The only legacies that did not go chapter 11 last during Bush's term were based in Texas. They had access to liquidity. AA's business plan was to stick it out until some of the competition went away. That didn't happen so they now have to join the rest of the industry in Chapter 11.
