AMR may be sold off
 

Front page article in today's WSJ.

Seems like management thought they would ditch some aircraft and trash some contracts. Now they may not have a company left at all.

Someone had posted an article about the amr rat pack. With Doug parker and horton being fellow coworkers and cut from the same cloth, and US Airs previous work with TPG I think the writing is on the wall.

Don't think DAL will be able to take all of AMR, nor do I think they want to. DOJ approval aside. I think they want the pieces they can use. I bet UAL and LCC and possibly other, will get in on the act as well.

It just keeps getting weirder and weirder.

DA wants the SA market. These are the CROWN JEWELS of American. Doubt very much they will hand them to DA. It's all or nothing for AMR. I bet USAir deal more than likely to succeed. Just my .02

DAL would go for MIA, DFW and SA routes USAIR would go for other peices along with UAL snagging up the others. Going to get interesting for sure....

This thread has a familiar ring to it. When UAL went into BK plenty of other airline pilots were salivating at the prospect of our demise and getting UAL's LHR slots, Pacific Division, etc. None of which happened, even though UAL was arguably in a weaker financial position than AMR is in now.

AA pilots, don't let it get to you. You can't control much in the process, but you can learn from our mistakes and NOT sign a concessionary BK contract. Make the company get the judge to impose it. You'll be back in Section 6 sooner and you won't have the AMR spokesholes saying aggravating things like "we have consensual agreements in place with all of our unions and we intend to enforce them".
