What specifically do you think I should read in the MOU?
The COC stays in place if amr buys us, it's that simple.

IMHO, I believe the COC will never be put into effect. The COC is called the poison pill for a reason. Everyone knows that it is a suicidal clause that provides excellent leverage in negotiations. Merged AMR would instantly become uncompetitive with DAL and UAL if this was put into place.

Does COC bring APA pay scales up to COC rates? Would APA tolerate a lack of pay parity with USAPA pilots making substantially more than APA pilots? APA may negotiate the COC away in JCBA negotiations and redistribute these monies to all pilots universally.

I believe COC will never become a reality.

But US is the one most desperate to merge with AA. AA wants to exit BK as a standalone. So...no merger, no COC, no problem?

The COC is good for all pilots as a tool. The West should be brought up to parity on a COC, that would only be fair. Life is never fair though, you only get what you negotiate. It sounds like APA is going to negotiate with their parking brake and log book.

I only present you with questions and ideas.

Absolutely. Albert Einstein said that nothing happens unless something moves and for this we speculate.

Yes, AA leadership advertises to be anti-merger. AA UCC and Labor seem to remain open to all options. The current COC seems to be an obstacle to likely progress.

Do you all think there will be furloughs in the event of merger? I have a friend's son that has an interview at LCC and is wondering this. What about the remaining AA guys on furlough?
