Obviously. The APA leadership is on record as stating to their members that an "LBFO II" type agreement is dead. If they were to even try to pass that to the members, there would be a pitchfork party and bonfire recall celebration. The UCC spittle kid says no more value beyond LBFO.
Tsk, tsk...........what to do, what to do.
I expect the pilots have no problem kicking the can for awhile. The holidays could be a disaster. Very pessimistic, I am.

Or realistic rather. You can only beat a dog so much before he bites in retaliation.

With that, though, you get PBS, hundreds of 76 seaters outsourced, and more hours flown per month. Those payrates looked great, though, I must say.
I had a DAL 767-400 FO on the jumpseat the other day. He could not stop bragging about the contract, DAL mgmt, the direction the company is going (plus how big his house is, and what great shape he's in, and how is kids are the best at everything.......blah blah blah).
But he did say that he averages 100-110hrs credit per month! How is that possible with WB flying? Either way, he says he could break 200K this year. With all his boasting, that may have been a stretch, but I must say I'm not intimately knowlegeable about DAL's pay structure and work rules.
But for anyone currently at AA, would you willingly take a contract like this, with all the bad (scope, work rules) that come with it?

What - no bragging about how hot his wife is?
As a DAL guy I can tell you there are two sides to every story. Obviously this guy likes the contract a lot. I also like it ( I voted yes) but realize that it has its share of tradeoffs, and a lot of DAL guys do not like it.
It was an improvement in my opinion, some DAL guys would argue this point, but not really anything to go around bragging about.
It is possible to credit over 100 hours for pay while flying a lot less - but this was not a result of this last contract, and might even be harder once its fully implemented.
I would say use our contract as a starting point and try to improve on our weak areas. Realize that while we were on on second post BK contract most of the legacies are still operating on BK contracts. This obviously made it harder for the DALPA group since we were bargaining against ourselves.
Hopefully UCAL will better our contract thus raising the bar for all.
Good luck APA!

Dal Yes voters don't get it. The outsourcing the new contract gave us is not worth the pay raises. Dal management and DALPA convinced the pilots the TA would bring minor pay raises and an insourcing of domestic block hours. So far it looks like it was just a minor pay raise. No hiring on the horizon and plenty of jumbo Rj's yet to be outsourced.
What ever you do at AMR, DO NOT cave on the 76 seat jet.
