I heard Richard Branson is buying AA and is going to merge them into Virgin America.

At least my rumor has a source. Branson: 'It would be quite fun' to buy stake in American Airlines

Perhaps a certain recent court ruling has left the water too muddy for either Horton or Parker ?

It's going to take Parker a long time to clean up the pilots seniority mess and perhaps he's electing to kick the can himself for awhile ?

He IS profitable after all.

Perhaps the AMR UCC wants no part of the US Airways mess ?

I don't think our court battle matters one bit. The fact the AA fa's have a petition out pro merger to hand to the ucc means they still need convincing. Parker now has his normal duties back on his schedule, something that wasn't happening while he was pursuing amr. You add that with some unverifiable rumors at the school house and it got me curious, just wondering if anyone on the AA side had heard anything.

I've been hearing quite the opposite. Maybe Parker went back to PHX because his job is done in DFW.

Perhaps the UCC find greater value in a standalone AA, even if it involves giving the APA an industry standard contract. Less risky than a wild card LCC merger with loose ends.
In fact the recent court proceedings may have some merger steering potential, we might see an expedited push for an East/West cba, or OTHER alternatives. This only to quench UCC anxieties.

Parker is holding a crew news session in PHX on Tuesday the 16th. First one in a few months. Something tells me it will be a standing room only event and quite lively. Not sure why, just a hunch.

Actually west pilots are talking about boycotting. I won't go anyway, Doug is always in full BS mode at those dog and pony shows. And then someone will get up and ask a stupid question like why we don't have quiche in our breakfast crew meals. Way too aggravating.
