American Airlines Discusses US Airways Merger
American Airlines discusses US Airways merger | Money - Home |
Back in April of last year the folks at willflyforfood.com posted that US Airways was proposing a new payscale for the merged pilot group. Pilot Jobs and Employment Resources - Pilot Jobs Board, Pay Rates, Interview Gouge, Forums, Recruiting
Does anyone have any idea of what first year FO pay might be at the merged American Airlines if or rather when it is announced that they will merge? Additionally, any thoughts on which airline it would be better to be hired on at before the merger? US Airways is hiring now while I've heard that American might start hiring off the street this spring. Any ideas? |
Per APA Green Book 2012, which the MOU is based on, $40 first year pay.

That is at least $15,000 less than first year pay at Delta or United. That is unfortunate that the combined airline and the largest airline will have the lowest pay. I live in Miami and don't want to commute so American Airlines is where I'd like to work.

It does suck, but second year group 2 is 78, then 94. Plus if the merger happens there will be an 8% raise 01/2014. That puts 3rd year at 100.50...not too bad.

I still think that a merger with LLC in BK is unlikely if Horton and the board rejects Parkers offer, even if the UCC favors it. The judge ultimately decides.
There is a reason why AA filed with 5B in the bank. They knew they had a better chance to emerge independent if they didn't need to borrow money. Bankruptcy law heavily favors the debtor. My money is on a stand alone exit. After that it's anybody's guess what those clowns will do. |
