No SLiceback, justfun got all CORRECT

The fact that you voted YES to LBFO #1

THe fact that you supported the PLI per all your posts on C&R

Are you Ralph Hunters cousin?

Just today on C&R Sliceback posted an attempt to prove that Airbus seats aren't much wider than Boeings.

It's not the seat width, more than the cabin cross section.

You play Devil's Advocate too much.

And your petty little grudge against the Admiral makes you look small.

Knock it off.

IMO, the APA genuinely worked very hard, fought hard, for its members. They have been simply shackled by the RLA, Bill Clinton, Judge Lane, economic realities, etc etc.
So ask your APA rep or any NO what they have done to correct or counter these obstacles. For most of my career the idea that pilots must adhere to a regulation written for the railroads in 1928 was something that seemed to be so wrong. Unfortunately if to this day if you bring up the subject of the RLA to anyone in power at any of the "associations" you will get a blank stare if you are lucky. The idea of getting out from under this regulation, a very unlikely option, or getting the regulation amended, a more likely prospect, is "not even on our radar" according to the reps and NO's. A few years ago a resolution was passed by most of the AA domiciles proposing changes that would provide automatic pay raises during NMB extended negotiations and make ALL contracts effective the first day after the existing contract became amendable. The APA BOD promptly tabled the resolution and when I mentioned it a an ORD domicile meeting our Rep immediately dismissed my question and moved on to his agenda, so much for participation. It is very easy for the associations to play the victim roll but is that what we are paying them for. The current system, created in 1931, is broken and obsolete and is the very reason our profession continues in the self induced death spiral.

Operation Orange? I've already said I agree with you re: the RLA.

But a few dozen squeaky voices trying to turn the ship that is APA and point it at the RLA isn't going to work. We can barely fend off the company. How are we going to fare against the U.S. Government and the courts?

Try. Make an effort. Have you ever asked an APA rep about Operation Orange? They dismiss Op Orange as readily as they do any other idea that involves real change. Unfortunately pilots are sheeple when it comes to their own labor representation. The associations intentionally keep the majority in the dark, withholding information until it behoves them, then they inform the masses with so much junk as to make it difficult to wade through everything convincing the masses that things are so complex that only the chosen are capable of understanding so sit back and just "trust us" to do what is best for the group. It is hard to watch educated accomplished people conduct their professional lives in such a fashion and to live in a world where they accept crumbs from the company and their labor associations. When one of the founders of Op Orange called me back in 2010 I got really excited and thought this was the train to jump on as it was going to charge out and get things changed for the profession. That train unfortunately has only generated extensive volumes of rhetoric and never left the station. Wonder why.
