Are those pay rates accurate? Still seems really low for the 190/. Also will you guys negotiate a new joint contract or will you just use this one going forward?

The rates are low indeed, a by-product of the whole "get 'em on the property first and fix the pay second." I have no doubt that the pay rates will increase with the JCBA.

Are these aircraft already on order?

The E-190 smacks a bit of having the Fokker (F-100) on the property. Pilots loved it, management hated it because the yields sucked and the operating costs were high. And the jets were constantly weight-restricted for the flying management wanted to do with them. Although maybe the 190 will be better in this regard.

I think it's going to be hard to get the pay rates up on them, and we'll see an airline subset form... E-190 vs. everybody else. And E-190 CA jobs will go junior relative to many FO jobs.

US(east) will be getting 2 more from Republic this year and I believe that is it for firm orders but maybe we still have options on the books.

The 190 is a very capable aircraft although I didn't like flying it. Quirky(things like the APU cannot be left unattended, seats like concrete park benches, many computer resets and that goofy yoke) and uncomfortable in the cockpit. A much more capable aircraft than the F100. 4 hr legs and can pretty much carry whatever you put in the door. Passengers like it and probably the best air conditioning of any plane I've flown.

Heaven save you if power is disconnected with the APU off. :eek:

These rates are correct and the 190 will continue to be extremely junior (1 year on property = top 25% on the 190).

With MOU Group 1 Capt rates equal to Group 2 F\O, who would bother? Unless it really improves your QOL, I guess.

It is really a genius way to operate a fleet to battle low cost carriers from the company point of view. Only the most junior CA/FOs will bid the E190 which will keep operating cost relatively low for that airframe. But I would prefer to see the payscales a lot higher.

Group 1 Capt rates don't really equal Group 2 F/O rates until very close to TOS. When you consider that the junior Group 1 Capt is a 2007 DOH right now, it may make more financial sense to bid Group 1 Capt for reasons other than a significant improvement in QOL.
