Maybe Delta wants the merger to happen?

I don't think this is about Mr. Parker or "shenanigans" as you sarcastically put it.
It is a request from a court of law!
I doubt the court really gives a sh!t about anyone's "weighty responsibilities".
As one who supports the merger, I consider this good news.

Publicly they claim that they do.

So do you work for Delta or do you mimic the Delta ego in the meantime?

Maybe they want the consolidation so they can justify a shot at alaska or jetblue.

:D:D:D

Delta undoubtedly wants the merger. If American exits standalone, their official go-it-alone plan involves aggresive growth which hurts everyone's profits.

And if US Airways remains standalone, their bankruptcy labor cost allows them to undercut which hurts everyone's profits as well.

Delta is not in any serious danger either way, but they want the industry stability and level cost playing field which the merger would provide.
