There is talk of the 190 being based elsewhere.

QOL does come pretty fast. I got hired in June. I've held a line for the past 2 months and I'm able to get weekends off.

I've been seeing that Republic 190 in CLT and BOS. Is it being leased by Airwa...American?

If they did bring it to other bases, it would help fix the staffing problem. I'd consider bidding if it were in my domicile. But in PHL? No thanks.

Remember the E190 had a short stint in CLT as well.

The biggest issue isn't the pay it's the trips, look at them, they are commuter schedules except instead of going all around the system you do BOS and LGA almost exclusively, with a RDU and IAH thrown in for good measure every other week.

If you want $$, second year min guarantee on it pays around $125k. But instead of having a block as an AB guy you're on short call.

Not to mention the essentially three year seat lock, 2 per the contract plus another one for the company to release you.

The only time it makes sense $$ wise is on year 2 pay, after that the AB is neck and neck with better seniority, trips, and schedules.

If it paid another $30/hr you'd get more takers.

Could the company move the 190 west before FOS or cross bidding?

Are you a Capt or FO on the 190?

F/O. QOL is a lot slower for captains. A lot of E190 CAs have been awarded something else and are being held. The junior guys that hold a line on the permanent bid are still on reserve. The guy I'm flying with this week was awarded 757 FO on the April bid and has a class date next month. That's a good sign things are moving.

I also know a couple F/O's on the 190 that are moving to the 757, and they have classes in May as well. It sucks we aren't hiring many this year but maybe they can catch up with the permanent bid awards.

I agree that right now it only makes sense for a year two guy, but I think we'll start seeing more movement on the left seat of the 190. 3rd year guys are holding a line and I think that will drop to 2nd year guys this year. Most 190 Capt's that I've flown with are being held for other positions and are approaching the year mark.

I'm leaving for the AB next month and will actually miss the shuttle flying.
