Anyone else think it's going to be impossible for them to transition, upgrade and get 110 newbies done by April?

There's no hard deadline. They difference between the bid and the number of people actually on property is always a bit fuzzy at any particular moment in time. The bid does mean the schoolhouse is going to be damn busy.

We did 1000 new hires in 1999. They'll get it done.

I just hope that if and when the seniority integration goes to the arbitrator, he will take into consideration our career expectation at US Airways of quick movementcompared to AA and slot us accordingly.

It's not a secret that third listers are going to get placed at or near the bottom. If you look at the united/cal list even furloughed pilots got placed ahead of people hired in 08 at cal.

Doesn't sound very fair to me. If that's the case, then we need about a 10 year fence to even it all out.

We will be sold, if at all possible, to get back the lost years of those before us. With USAPAs deft skills I imagine I'll wind up below AA furloughs who had less time on property than I do at US.

Well keep your eyes on the little nugget that's hiding behind the curtain. APA brought it up briefly awhile ago and quickly dropped it till a later time. There was a Q/A somewhere with a question regarding getting credited time for furlough time as they had in the past, with the MOU and all the other stuff going on.

APA short answer was something like, we are still costing things out, and will cost that out after we have everything in place and see what we can do. I'm not sure but I believe APA has a history of getting credit for furlough time maybe? Not really sure, but if they do, LOS numbers will definitely change dramatically on the bottom of the lists....

I've pretty much expected that, my personal theory is that USAPA and APA want to give furlough credits to each other to put both of them further up the list in regards to the west (Phx) guys. A little pat on the back and boom son, there you are!

I guess the latest thing on the jumpseat is a seniority deal where you list and for a certain period it's seniority and then fcfs. I didn't quite get it when it was explained to me, we'll see. Like my good friend 'Big Baller' says, go ahead and plan on the worst case scenario, that way you aren't disappointed. 2400 guys who aren't working at American yet senior to me in the end, yep, I'd say that's my worst case.
