If you are traveling by yourself and select "pilot commuting" you will not be charged anything. If you are non-revving (alone or with family) you will be charged the $2, which is a myID fee, not anything collected in Fort Worth. Fares to travel on your non-legacy carrier have been zeroed out. According to FAQs from our most recent State of the Airline, they anticipate having this in-housed sometime this summer, so myID will be out of the picture and cost will be zero either way.
I'm a cheap SOB, too, but this is both minor and temporary, so I can deal with it ...

I would love to be able to "list for the jumpseat" on US, to save the gate agents time, but at this point as a native AA guy I don't think I can do it...

FWIW, I just logged on to AA Jetnet, went to myidtravel, and tried to select "Pilot Commuting" as my travel choice...it ONLY had R1 confirmed or R2 standby as choices, and yes, a $2 charge would apply.

There were similar nonrev issues with UAL/CAL and DAL/NWA in their mergers also. It isn't just flipping a switch to unify nonrev bennies. They would rather let merging employees travel for almost nothing instead of holding off on any cross-metal benefits until it's "perfect".

Do you guys have access to Wings or do you list on myidtravel only for US flights?
For some reason I thought you had access to Wings already.
Anyway checking in with the agent on US is not like AA. You don't have to be listed prior to it. Normally 99% of the time they are great and it takes about a minute.

No access to Wings (which I assume is like Jetnet at AA). Therefore no way other than myidtravel to buy/list on US. I don't know which will ultimately prevail, but over here they are touting "the NEW jetnet", which reflects the merged company. They claim we will be able to "see" and list on each other on it this summer.
As for walking up to a USAir gate and asking for the jumpseat--yes it is easy (only DL us easier), and they have always treated me well. Sorry if you don't get the same at AA.

$2? What the bleep??
Anybody know the difference between selecting 'Pilot Commuting' or 'r2 standby'? Both seemed to eventually yield the 2.01 dollar fee.
Additionally - once booked through myIDtravel on American , how do I get an eticket number? All I had was the booking reference. I was located easily in the system by the gate agent but was approached after boarding by a manager seeking my ticket number- which I did not have. I was allowed to continue but the integration seems to have some growing pains and confusion attached.
