Yeah they can will call you if the trip is 12 hours to report. It's not so bad now that it's 12 hours but it was horrible when it was just 9 hours. That was 9 hours to departure time on top of that.

It was nine hours to departure only if you were retarded enough to accept

Actually, little known fact but it was always 9 hours to report (not departure) but crew sched ignored the contract since they knew most people didn't know. If you demanded the contract, they had to either delay the flight or punt to a short call.

Yeah, there's too much free reign on the transitioning. FAR 117 made Long Call on the airways side a lot worse with the limitless transitioning.

Hard to argue with a 30 year scheduler when you're on probation.

Insanely easy, actually.

Source: I was on probation.

It's not really arguing. They don't care and are perfectly cheerful and happy to pass you. Their rules said they had to try to give you the trip, but if you said "contract" their rules said move on (or delay the trip). They're just doing their job as they are told to do it and whether you fly it, or somebody else does, is no skin off their back.

You're welcome. The company just didn't give this to you out of the goodness of their hearts. We asked for it back in December. We came to an agreement on the long call callout last month. Some of your dues at work (Even though you don't pay dues since you're on probation) But USAPA still sucks right?

Exclamation

Speaking of transitioning.... Is it true that you can "only" get transitioned twice a month? Or is it another urban myth?
