APA public updates

While the pilots of US Airways are not privy to any internal updates, I find it curious that we haven't seen any public update from the APA about anything in a few weeks. But they did put one out today in regards to our government rejecting Norwegian Air International... I agree with what they say...

Here is the link... [URL="https://public.alliedpilots.org/apa/AboutAPA/APAPublicNews/tabid/843/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/4546/Allied-Pilots-Association-House-Amendment-Rejecting-Flag-Of-Convenience-Affirms-Importance-of-Fair-Competition.aspx"]

But I also find it kinda funny how they ended their public statement. They talked about the APA representing the pilots of AA and then said: "American Airlines is the world's largest passenger airline."

That statement couldn't be true without the merger with US Airways. They sure liked to talk about what they feel is right. And I'm sure we all agree. But they sure jumped on the bandwagon of being the largest airline once again without giving credit to how that happened... Just sayin... :)

It IS the worlds largest passenger airline and is well into the process of completion. I don't see anything unusual about that claim as it is factual. Exactly what "credit" were they supposed to include in that press release ?

Is it? Right now AA and US are separate subsidiaries of the American Airlines Group, right? So American Airlines is not the largest airline in the world. Just like I don't work for American Airlines, I work for US Airways, a subsidiary of the American Airlines Group. Just like Piedmont and PSA.

Wow. This thread charts new territories in what pilots will argue about.

It IS silly anyone would make a big deal the APA didn't play politics with reality and ingratiate inapplicable irrelevant semantics in their statement regarding NAI. Regardless of what some think, the fact is these two carriers have merged and are in the usual gradual process of consolidation and that is recognized by virtually everybody.

Hopefully APA Comm realizes the shortsightedness of their press release and includes the other carriers that contributed to the new American Airlines in their future press releases -

Robertson Aviation Corporation
The Aviation Company
American Airways
Trans Caribbean Airways
Air Cal
Reno
TWA
Ozark
Transcontinental Air Transport
Western Air Express
Piedmont Airlines
Empire Airlines
Henson Airlines
Lake Central Airways
Mohawk Airlines
Pacific Southwest Airlines
America West Airlines

Oy! This is one of the more ridiculous thread topics I've seen in a while. I mean, really?

I heard that you weren't a real American pilot unless you flew the Condor. With CR on board.
