If the arbitrators do place career expectation weight to the AA furloughees (many of whom are ex-TWA), will they then be "ignorant trolls" who screwed X or Y ?

No one at Eagle screwed TWA pilots as it was an arbitrator (Nicolau in this case) who determined the facts of a given dispute and guess what ?

That is EXACTLY what is about to occur here.
Nicolau has no say here... This will follow the previous two... Express time won't count... Percentages will be identical for Status/Category.... The rest that's occurring is just a song and dance....

Answer me this... If a job at LAA was so superior why didn't those furloughs come back for the money and such a superior job at LAA? Hmmm...

He doesn't ?

Tell that to the West committee. As for your proclomations of certainty, knock yourself silly.

The "superiority" argument by the AAPSIC was in relation to PMCE compared to LUS, not what any given Letter T pilot was experiencing in relation to AA return. Additionally, since seniority is the name of the game in this business and these pilots had both time and flexibility, it may have been to their advantage to take that advantage of both of those factors considering what each pilots personal situation was.

I understand it's satisfying to embrace a rationale that is to your benefit, but I think claiming certainty could set yourself up for crushing disappointment. But, since you are so certain of what will occur, I don't see any reason to twist yourself into a pretzel, but again, knock yourself silly if it serves you.

I dont care as I'm at the bottom, just curious.
Here is what was filed by AAPSIC on page 63 back in September.

-------------------
Active and Inactive Pilots

As of December 9, 2013, the American seniority list included a total of 9,845 pilots; the East list included a total of 3,566 pilots; and the West list included a total of 1,608 pilots. Those totals included, in addition to “active” pilots, pilots in inactive statuses. The breakdown between active and inactive pilots on the three lists was as follows:

Active
Inactive

AA
8034
1811
US(E)
3025
541
US(W)
1403
205
Total
12,462
2557

As of December 9, 2013, 1,165 pre-merger American Pilots were in Letter T status.

------------------

Unlike eaglefly's response, it is not subject and I have provided the data right from AAPSIC court docs.

I'm seriously laughing at this...at the time of the merger Meyers was a 27 (?) year old who hadn't been on property a month on the east. I just can't believe the arrogance of the LUS pre merger new hires. Do you guys really believe AA was at the same level as US? None of us would've ever been called to even interview there (my app is still on file!). Our second year pay (Airbus) was $56! It topped out at $85 after 15 years!

Oh, career movement you say. Let's see, Airbus CA topped out at $125! Meyers will be making more than that as an Airbus FO in his third year!

I'm sorry guys, the AA merger was a godsend to everyone on the US side, and to even be thinking about slotting in new hires ahead of furloughed guys hired in 98-00 just blows my mind especially when you sit next to guys who were so screwed over by the same thing and you see what it did to their careers. Disgusting.

I totally get why you want to do a land grab but you are no better than the west guys at this point. Maybe you support them too, I dunno.

Really? Lol! You make it sound as if somehow the job at LAA and LUS were equal in you mind. YOUR post history (as a PSA pilot until late 2013) seems to indicate that LUS was NOT a place you really wanted to work until it became clear that LUS and LAA would likely merge:

Fyi.... I realize we dont choose and pick who will hire us. Its all about timing and opportunity. But few would choose or say Airways is the best pilot job out there.....
So, I see that you have had a change of heart now that the merge between AA and US was announced. Somehow, in your eyes, LUS suddenly became an equally superior place to work as AA, and since you got on in late 2013 (September or so? Because in August 2013 you were still proclaiming yourself a PSA pilot), you've suddenly become VERY interested in the SLI proceedings.

Face it, whoever you are. You and I are within a month of each other on the list, and are BOTH super junior, relative to the 15,000ish pilots on the list. You are arguing seniority with a guy (Eaglefly) who has at least a few years ON PROPERTY over you, so why do you waste any time arguing with a guy who - no matter what happens - will be senior (way senior) to you (and me)?

Enjoy the fact that you are young and will retire very senior on the combined list LONG after guys like him (and me) are mere memories on the seniority list.

While I agree with the bulk of what you wrote, I do disagree with the above statement. The new hires I know, mostly from my own class, but also former Air Force colleagues, are all guys with solid resumes and of great character. I'm positive all of us would have been picked up elsewhere (including AA). Please don't propagate the myth that we (LUS new hires) are somehow weaker new hires, it's BS.

Agreed. I'll refrain from further unrelated discussion. But, there is another thread that seems to be more active on essentially this same topic.
