Jumpseat from CLT to SXM on Airways. Has anyone done this? Lookong to go down south after the holidays. Just wanted to check about departure tax and what to do once in at maarten in terms of getting to the gate.. I JS on airways all the time, but never in and out of the country.

Thanks

in clt there are a few customer service desks, I always have to go their first to have listing created and pay taxes before i go to the gate to check in why you are there ask agent to write down the codes they needed to list you because alot of the agents in the island don't know how to help you jumpseat back, i just hand them the card the other agent wrote down for me and i've never missed a flight because they couldnt get me on the list you'll have to pay the 65-70 departure taxes at counter on the way back too.

Anyone have any idea how much longer our LUS jumpseat reservation system will live?

We're going to St Thomas in the spring and I'd like to jumpseat to save some money (I'll by the AA20 fares for the wife/kids). If I can reserve the seat, I'll take the chance. If it goes to LAA's system, being so junior I don't know I'd want to take the chance I wouldn't get on.

I've heard various rumors...some that it'll last until at least SOC, which I hear is scheduled for summer sometime (it was April but I think it got pushed back a bit). I've heard they may keep it around for a while to let others try it out or develop a hybrid. And I've heard that APA wants to quash it pretty quick and go to their straight-seniority system. In any case, the LUS system has been awesome...it's very easy to predict when you can get a ride.

Thanks!
