I agree. We have been slowly improving our contract since exiting ch11. I'm sure our mgmt. has crafted 2 proposals for openers. One based on yours improving and the other based on concessions. I guess we will be "pattern bargaining" down this time to be competitive. Even after ch11 we are still going backwards. That Stockholm disease is tough to cure.

Trust me, the ONLY thing better in our contract is the pay rate, for now. Everything else is the worst parts taken from three different contracts.

Delta is screwed if there is any truth to "pattern bargaining".

Who cares? Group II now pays more than group III ever would under the old MTA.

If a 777 was group I but paid $350/hr would you be *****ing that it was a group I ac?

Yeah, it's called the MTA. In it you will find the slightly improved rigs. You know, the ones you claimed we were voting out.

Currently Delta 717 pay is $195 for 12 year Captain. BIG difference.

I do like that the 777 and 330 and 350 are on the same pay scale
Our pay is actually higher than DALs on the 190 IIRC.

And the 787 that is replacing the 767 is in group IV.

I really can't understand why anyone would want to work that much

Average lines at LUS are usually around 74-75 hours.
I would love to credit 85 hrs in say 15/16 days away than 74-75 working the same amount of days. You can't leave out half the story.

Just wondering what fleet and seat you're on..
As a 756 guy who flies mostly 75's to Europe, yeah- at 7th yr pay, the AA payscale is $15.20 higher than my current rate.

However..
What about Profit Sharing? even at a pathetic 3.8 % of my 2014 earnings, that increases my hourly rate by a minimum of $6.50.
Also, what will the AA guys be getting paid for a 3 day Europe trip vs. us (UAL) and DAL?
A Dublin 3 day pays a min of 15 hrs (so does SNN, etc..) due to 5hr pay min day. Believe DAL is now at 5:15 min day.

At the end of the day, Pay Rates (while nice) are only part of the overall picture. It's about everything else.. min pay, days off, medical, retirement, training, vacation, PBS, etc.
As someone who lives local, I actually flew 947 hrs but pay credit was 1301hrs! And still used all my vacation, a few sick calls, and had 12-14 days off a month.

While the AA pilots have spoken, I believe this was actually a bad deal for them and will make it harder for them in 2020, plus make it harder for DAL and UAL pilots going forward.

Time will tell (lets revisit in 2016/2017) if this worked out towards their benefit, or if AA Management shifts flying to lower group aircraft. Also, what their W-2's look like vs how much they had to fly for that $.. and lastly, what profits the company ends up making~

Motch

PS> At the end of the day, when you divide my pay for the year by how much I actually worked, I still exceed their new contract~ Just saying...

Even that would be nice.. Try 19 on 11 off for 74 hrs. No ability to adjust schedule either. This is the new AA reality
