Well, looks like it's true. Not only is this pilot getting fired he will probably loose his certificates. Falsification of signatures in logbooks is a federal offense.

I do, actually. I've been treated extremely unprofessionally by our PHX based brethren even though it should be obvious that I don't fit the description of a pre-merger east pilot. This childish horse**** needs to stop and some folks on both sides are going to need to fry for it.

I've never been treated poorly by either side. Yes while riding jumpseats both sides have expressed their views, and I stay neutral as I'm a third lister.

I haven't been treated poorly either. I ride on west flown metal a lot, and it's always been great. Everyone has their 1%.

It was sent to me. But does it matter? It was sent by email, it was out there and the reality is that this kind of thing leads to HUGE distrust of the pilot rank and file.

When the GermanWings event starts revealing MORE information I believe you will see a backlash against the profession like none of us have ever seen and the seniority issue will come to the fore front and center.

But we will have to see.

What am I looking at in the logbook picture? Why would someone falsify an aircraft logbook signature?

And thats a good point. The third listers "DON'T CARE". It's about the MONEY, not the principle. They are only going to do NOW what is best for themselves.

Germanwings is being crewed by LH pilots. Another attempt by LH management to battle the low cost war in Europe. Not sure if the salaries are the same. Maybe it is a copy of the legendary MetroJet idea.

LH is in dire waters right now. LCCs, ME3, mismanagement etc. and now management's attempt to dump the pilots retirement package. 12 strikes in 12 months! That's unheard of! Not too long ago, those God-chosen pilots would have pointed their finger sarcastically at their colleagues out the immediate West.

The threat of FAA (or worse TSA) backlash is real, but remember that in most EU countries no cabin crew members enters the cockpit when one pilot had to go to the lav (as of 2009 when I worked over there).
