Right. Especially CLT, if that pilot ends up senior to a 5/86 east US hire.

Draw a circle around your post and there is complete BS. Unreal. You must love the NW, Minnesota...maybe Den or SLC, or the Deep South.

Here's a few place within in 2 hours off the top of my head.

PHX - you have Prescott, Sedona, Flagstaff (2.5 hours so it's out I guess)

LAX (REALLY?!?!)- San Diego, oh Christ a huge amount of places along the beaches (let me guess you are gonna say you can't afford it, but you'd be wrong if you looked around),

DFW-Ever been to hill country? I guess that extra half hour drive is too much.

CLT- Actually CLT has a lot of nice places 2 hours away and within. Might not be your thing, but definitely "decent"

MIA-I don't like FL in general, but I beat a lot of people who live there would disagree with you

I'll give you ORD, but it's a cool city. Around it is lacking to me but that's mainly the lake causing long drive times. Lots of nice place in Wisconsin just north though

The last of all the East Coast cities have many nice places around them. Yep it can be expensive but living some where decent requires that.

I'll be bidding from PHL to DFW as soon as I can hold anything there. Staying in the 190 until then, though.

I'd love to move to Southern CA (LAX). Realistically, even with lots of equity in my house, I'm going to have to be a wide body FO or narrow body captain to be able to live there. That probably means 5-10 yrs before I'll be able to move there. Might be able to move in 3-5 years if I was willing to let go of some investments or the San Diego prices settle down, but I'm not holding my breath. Good to hear they plan more expansion and that relatively new pilots can get LAX. I'm jealous

Where ever I can fly four man trips with R57, cactiboss and eaglefly. Figure I'd get all the bunk time with the seniority discussion that would take place.

I have a ton of friends who are now based in LAX that were living there before the UAL merger or went there after the merger to be 73 Captains. Some of them fly International now. Merging is great when your merger partner has desirable and numerous bases giving you more choices of what to fly and where to live!
