Default PBS questions

I am still trying to figure it out and haven't gotten a chance yet to sit through a class, but is it true that with PBS you cannot "double-up" and can't work six days in a row now?

You can double up, but for red eyes you now need 11 hours instead of 9 from debrief to show. So will only be able to double up to late starts. Also you can double up from a early morning duty period to an afternoon period with a hour or 2 ( don't know the exact number).

You have to waive to allow double up and reduce min turn time to 11.

Yes you can work 6 days. And see above, because I think most junior guys (LAX/CLT/PHL at least) will be flying back to back red eyes WITHOUT doubling up. This means 6 days in a row for 20:20 pay. I'd rather have been able to double up easier and get it done in 5.

By the way, you don't have to go to class (though it's an easy 4 hour pay boost) for this stuff, it's in the distance learning. Also, talk to the PBS guys in the crew lounge after the bid results.

Unfortunately, After Aug, the red eyes--in particular the 6 AM to 6PM (The ones you can double up from or to)..get very few and far between...They system will let you, but a lot of the red eyes are incorporated into 3 and 4 day trips for the winter season, so you won;t have the trip to double into or from...dig into your PBS results and see where the SAN, and PDX redeyes went..It will be to a senior person, and there are only a few of them you can you to match into a double up....

CLT has a lot of red eye 3 days next month that have 3 legs on day 1 to bump the pay up to 12 hours. Won't be able to double up with those.

The problem is we are all considered international pilots.... The 30 minutes of debrief kills a bunch of double ups

If the min domicile rest is 11 hours, how can 30 minutes debrief time be the deal breaker?

If a redeye gets in a 615am, your not off duty til 645am. Can't double up on the 6pm bank the same day.
