Low Time New Hires
 

Have there been any recent OTS new hires getting on with super low total flight time? Or with only having the ATP written?

If so, what else did they bring to the table? An Engineering background, Test pilot, inside connections, Nobel peace prize?

What's super low in your mind? I know a guard guy who got on with 1800hrs total time. He was just your avg guard bum before he got on. Ironically enough he wasn't actively trying to get on with AA when he got the call for the interview and then the CJO, he shot gunned his apps out in case he didn't get called His #1 choice.

My class there were several low time guys (1600-1800). Some with a bachelor's only others with more. All were mil guys and fighter or attack pilots.

Andrewtac - if I'm thinking of the same class they were also fighter IP's.

The next lowest known TT for civilians, that I've heard of, was 2500 ish.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Just looking to get an idea of what's possible.

Some had more school/quals (test pilot, IPs), but I am certain some where pretty junior in the guard. Not that they weren't outstanding candidates, just a bit young and still working on quals.

2 options to get on with "low time":
1- military
2- non-Caucasian or XX chromosome set.

That's it. I fly with mostly newhires.
