Reserve

Wondering if someone could share reserve info, i.e., Short Call, Long Call, Airport Standby?

Short call is "promptly." I'm not sure what the upper limit of that is but I fly with some guys that take 3 hours to get in and no one has a problem with that.
76 hours pay.

Long call is 12 hours. MOST of the time you will get the call when they process the next day's open trips around 1-2 pm. Occasionally someone will call in sick 12 hours out or they will build a trip and notify you 12 hours out. You can be transitioned to short call 5 times in a month and get 30 mins extra pay each time. 73 hours pay.
There is no airport standby reserve.

Reserve under LUS wasn't bad. Under LAA, it is awful. You will be working like a slave. The company is also getting real bad about blatantly violating the contract with reserves. Plus, you have to watch your 117 legality like a hawk.

Good thing that there is zero movement-so reserve is lasting 4 eva!

Best way to answer this question is with a question. You have your stuff in at Delta and United, right? Seriously, we've got 12-14 yr guys here looking at bailing, it's just getting progressively worse. Last three months have been really bad. I plan on riding it out in hopes that it will improve, but if it doesn't I'll be gone.

I would usually prefer reserve over a line: work 7-8 day a month rather than 18.
Living in base makes it good.

You obviously have not done reserve under the current staffing model.

Those people are also known as idiots.

Those would be the infamous 2002-2004 new hires at AA.
Upgrade is within five years and they don't feel ready. They been under performers since the day they were hired.

I hate to break it to you, but that's not how this management works..... or has you work. Had reserve a couple months ago, flew over 80 hours. I hope you guys get quickly fed up and things change, but just warnin' ya.
