BTW, we are so missing the boat on benefits as airline pilots. Why we haven't all joined ALPA (or any single entity) and brought our benefits in-house, with commensurate increases in "pay" from employers to offset their savings, is beyond me. Imagine 50,000+ theoretically healthy pilots negotiating group health, disability, etc...gotta be able to put together a very attractive package of benefits not dependent on the whims of, and negotiations with, the employers.

We haven't joined ALPA because we have a rep on the BOD who torpedoes every single discussion, every chance he gets. He doesn't want it, therefore, it won't happen as long as he is in place.
