Crew News sessions are tantamount to those daily live-TV "rallies" that Hugo Chávez used to conduct.

(And just like in Venezuela, people, as in the Training Center staff, used to be required to attend.)

Management uses these dog and pony shows to tell employees either what they want to hear, and/or what management wants them to hear.

A reliable source at Airbus has said that AA's A350 delivery positions are being sold to other customers.

I wouldn't waste my time studying the flows on that aircraft type any time soon...

Even if Doug cancelled the A-350 order on his way to the crew news, he wouldn't announce it there.

How can we compete with all the foreign airlines with our clapped our 76s and 777s? They are flat out embarrassing. Add in a disgruntled cat rancher and it just tops it off.

You do realize that aircraft orders and the delivery positions in the order get sold or traded on a semi-regular basis. Sometimes leasing companies will buy a spot in the line just to turn around and sell it for $$ later.

They show up when they show up.

Only if you listen to The Admiral. He thinks we aren't getting 787s either.

Watching the last crew news video I thought just the opposite. Not giving away too much here but all he kept saying was we have the order on the books and it didn't sound very convincing at all. You don't have to read too much into it and I bet those A350's are history.

I have 16 years of longevity and cannot begin to hold any widebody position on the west coast.
It takes a looooooong time.
