Southeast Asia to Northeast US! Singapore is renewing its ~18 hour SIN-EWR route. I'd imagine the only pairing unavailable would be Northeast US to Australia

True but I don't think AA will be adding too much long haul flying in the future, especially from the northeast to Southeast Asia.

I'd bet in the future the widebody numbers steadily decline as a result of international ULCCs and the ME3.

East coast to Eastern Europe/Africa/Middle East/Asia. Not sure why AA isn't trying to expand the brand? I know is all profits and agreements, but a Delta seems to make it work? Dare I say the D word.

14 Feb crew news:
Widebody fleet types will reduce at bases. No real specifics given.

For example, rumor has it that the only WB in Chicago will be the 78.

Not going to happen. I'll be happy if we just keep the international flying we have.

When I was in captain leadership class a year end a half ago Kirby came in and talked to us. It was very depressing. It's a constant battle just keeping the status quo.

I don't doubt that. Our product sucks. My wife has abandoned us as well as all her work friends. They take Delta almost exclusively. Pretty sad. Every time I travel with her it takes 45 mins+ to get our bags at baggage claim. You hear people *****ing that it takes this long all the time. One day was 1+10. Yes seventy minutes to get our bags. What a joke. Meanwhile the jetBlue that landed after us took 20 minutes. I even took a screen shot of the flights on FlightAware to send to someone, but couldn't figure out who would care. Or if it would even matter.

Good thing they are spending billions buying back stock that. Good call Dougie.

Exactly. Im flat out embarrassed by our operation. Most (not all) of the agents and FAs are miserable and just plain nasty to our passengers. It's appalling. Combine that with our old, outdated airplanes and terminals and it really is scary.

AA is making money in spite of itself. During the next downturn things are going to get very ugly.

I just hold out hope that we can turn into some sort of low cost legacy. I know that's an oxymoron but we will not be competing with our hard or soft product.

The 190 is a great airplane from a customer standpoint. No middle seat makes it nice. My one complaint is that every single time I'm in the back it's freezing cold. Every time. No issues in the 170's. Just the 190. I remember one day people had winter jackets and hats/gloves on. FAs walked by and never said anything or turned the heat up.
