Looks to be a ton of airbus vacancies on the bid posted yesterday, I would expect the class will be almost exclusively airbus and you can expect OAK, LAX, PIT, PGD, With a possibility of LAS(AB), FLL, & BLI. Things change fast here though, lots of movement coming in the next 6 months.

I would expect a large number of LAX vacancies for this class. About 90% of the LAX FO list is either upgrading or transitioning to other bases in the next 6 months. If there are any AB LAS slots, expect to be junior for a long time. About half the FO list there now is equipment locked and will be transitioning to the AB in the next 2 years.

Why does it matter? Serious question.

A specific topic for the hopes, dreams and ambitions of the
14AUG class. Add 'thread starter' to my life time bio.

I will have a car with room for 1 pax.

That was weird. Make sure you study. Be happy with whatever you get.

Supposedly quite a few 80 pilots in the class due to scheduled MX on 1 of the AB sims?? Not to mention we're very short on the 80

Here's a tip for new hires. If you want to go to Larry Flint's club and want to invite the whole class, don't use the company email.

Wow! That's a huge class. It will be entertaining to watch them cram 20lbs of **** in a 5lb bag over the next 6 months.

Can we stop with the "Drop List" term. We don't use it here. I don't know where it came from, but it sounds stupid.

Sep 11 class is only 8 students all AB. LAX, FLL, PGD, OAK, BLI domiciles offered. As of now no other Sept class. Oct next

Drop is a military term. On Drop night you got your airframe and base. It's just a carry over- (not for KC135- clearly you know this)

Class is Oct 9.

I bet the October class is NOT 40. Probably more like 10. We are already overstaffed, there's practically no attrition, and there's no way the training department can cram 40 new hires through with the holidays coming up (training department vacations) and all the 80 pilots still in AB training. They have a pool now, and could actually not hire until sometime next year. Which as I've said before, is likely since Ashley quit and recruiting is a mess right now.

These rumors are coming from people simply adding up the recent interviewees, and assuming they will get the next class, as it has been in the past. going forward, recruiting is going to be proactive, by hiring people and having them lined up, rather than reactionary as it has been in the past. (15 people quit, quick, hires as many as you can!)

ECAM is probably right on target here. The throughput on the 80 is not high and the airbus training pipeline will be bogged down by hundreds of 80 guys transitioning over. Once everyone is an airbus pilot there will be massive gains in productivity that will probably offset the need to hire a lot of pilots for a while, even with growth.

Only problem with that assessment is that we are not overstaffed. Wait until they release the March 18 block hours and block hours moving forward. Remember how we operate.
