Greetings all, glad to join the crowd as a recent CJO recipient. Excited to start training on 12 Sep. Just moved to Northern VA (Fairfax area), so hoping to get BWI right out the gate.

Can anyone talk to the percentage of flights that originate from DCA and/or IAD? And any idea what kind of seniority is needed to hold a line that contains mostly those? Would be a much shorter drive... Thx!

We don't have co-basing. All trips will start and end in BWI.

What he said. DCA overnights are not uncommon. IAD overnights are out there but a little tougher to come by. Congrats on the CJO. BWI is growing like crazy right now so you should be holding it rather soon after you start.

Congrats! Based on your Who's Been Hired post which says you're a 20 yr mil guy I can't imagine you'll have any trouble getting BWI right out of training. PM sent.

Welcome. The above are correct. You will be able to hold BWI very quickly if not right out of the gate.

Don't forget you have a party the night before class starts! 🍻

It changes from class to class, of course but ours went 24/28 to BWI and the last class all 28 went BWI.

What was the start date of the most recent class that got their base assignments?

My entire class (June/17) and the 3-4 classes ahead of us all got sent to BWI.

Question to those who have been on the line for 3-4 months, how long to hold a blank line, or a line in MDW, BWI, HOU etc.

About 8 months on the line. My class hit the line in early Feb and guys got into blank lines in the Sept bid.

Bottom of the blanks post-summer...you'll be on reserve but have less choice of what days.

Just remember that a blank line holder can trade non-reserve trips in ELITT. Even if you only have one trip available to trade, it can make a difference!

Provided ELITT doesn't self destruct on the 25th again.
