If you're just going for SWA, I wouldn't leave your job in your situation.

There do call corporate pilots...make sure everything is good in pilot credentials.

Just a side note. I have had 4 pilots I work with hired by SWA in the last 2 months. All of them applied this year for the first time. Non of them have a B737 type and everyone is part 135 only and non of them attended a job fair. There is no formula....lol

Has anyone that went to the most recent job fair, been invited to interview in the last week? I know of a few that got an invite email the week after the job fair but it's been quiet since.

I've had two buddies that interviewed last week and got the interview invite a week or so before then. Both were at the recent job fair.

Thanks. I wonder at what point they'll move on to the next round of applicants.

Yes, I attended the job fair and received the invite 10/27. Earliest time available to interview was December 4th.

Would you share times and 135 or 121?

As mentioned earlier in this thread, I attended the September 30 event, morning session. I've now received an invitation to interview, dates offered were one for next week (Nov 7) and the remaining are all Dec 4-5-6-7.

4600 hrs
1050 hrs 121 as FO, jet regional
B737 type
retired military
1400 hrs Navy NFO, P-3 ..that's Naval Flight Officer, not pilot, for those unaware: https://en.wikipedia.org)/wiki/Naval_flight_officer
CFI + all those letters afterwards
extensive professional training development/management background
BS Aviation Management
MA Education
20+ years in Silicon Valley in GPS software engineering
Age 62.5

I am likely an outlier. Wasn't thinking I would get the call since I really didn't consider myself competitive, then there's that age thing. So don't worry about what the 'formula' or the 'secret handshake' is to get invited. I've had my app sitting at Southwest for a couple years, maybe the attendance at the job fair made the difference. They clearly have some methodology just to invite some to the job fairs, since I know not everyone who has applied gets invited.

Forgot to mention before the editing window timed out on me:

Zero TPIC. OK, maybe one hour since I took my B737 type ride in 1994 under FAR 61 Part H, where I had to do three landings in an actual airplane. I didn't have enough turbine experience under the regs in place at that time to have the sim ride complete all the requirements, so that is why the airplane was used. $55 per minute for a 737-200, btw. :-)
