Just like any other regional flying in the northeast. No difference.

Lots of JFK 190 FLL pairings out there. I got tired of the northeast so I usually venture down south to the warmth.

320 FLL 1410 (39%) 1/2007

320 LGB none

Umm... have you seen the Airbus pairings? We probably have the worst pairings among all the major airlines. A lot of it has to do with the crap flight schedules, but if you want anything commutable, you're looking at 18-21 hr 4 days, 23-25 hr 5 days. Sucks! Not to mention the back and forth day/night/redeye/pinkeye flying.

We're getting excited about 4 year upgrades? With out crappy reserve rules. Maybe if you live in base it's not too bad, but I know a lot of people that have no interest in being junior Airbus CA, on reserve flying to the island in the middle of the night.

Bwah ha ha! Just looked at the awards. #380 in the company is indeed a brand new BOS 320 FO. Six months slingin' gear for half the pay plus two trips to the schoolhouse to fix it. Ouch.

Poor guy. Lol.

Consider this wasnít a mistake before you pass judgement guys. Life happens.

Fyi, downgrades do not happen without CPO approval. Without approval downgrades are not honored in the bid and not posted.

Lol....nope. He'll make more than he did as a 190CA....in fact, if he bids right, he'll make more than most 320 CAs there too.

He was already #1 as a CA. I guess if he buddy bids check airmen. But then he is working a lot harder on Flica just to clear what he did before just cherry picking his sched.

Yeah, I got that. Again, if he doesn't mind working FLICA, he'll make more than he does now. Plus, maybe he was just tired of being in charge, who knows. But your original post made it seem like it was a colossal mistake. Far from it.

Not sure Iíd do it but I understand his reasoning. Iíve flown with him heís a solid guy. Heíll now be able to bid check airman lines and either never come to work and still get paid or pick up over top the trips he got bought off of and make double pay. Heíll definitely make more than he did as a 190 CA if he chooses to do that. Iím jealous.

You know what? I like this line of thinking. I think we should encourage all our senior captains to bid back into the right seat, where the REAL money is. :-p

Donít know the guy personally, but is it possible he was never a 320 FO or that itís been 12 years since he was on that jet? Friend of mine in the 800-ish range made the same move because he wanted to learn the jet first as an FO, even after being a JB Captain for 10 years. Food for thought...

I wouldn't worry too much about two captains bidding to the right seat. With over 1600 captains here, there's likely to be a few downgrades for the many reasons mentioned earlier in this thread.

Life happens for better or worse. Being allowed to downgrade for a better schedule to care for a newborn or a sick family member doesn't seem like a bad thing to me.

If it were occurring in greater numbers I would worry, but not for a fraction of one percent of all captains in one system bid.

4 downgrades. Not two. BOS CA to BOS FO, JFK CA to FLL FO, JFK CA to JFK FO, FLL CA to MCO FO. I agree with the rest.

STOP THE PRESSES!!!! Less than 1/2 of one percent downgraded to be a VERY VERY senior FO on the AB making close to $200,000 (or more) with an amazing schedule. I canít figure out why anyone would EVER want to do that. JetBlue must be a TERRIBLE GOD AWFUL place to aviate. Hahaha.
