The sad thing here is that most of these customers booked on Sun Country because of the discounted airfare.

Pushing the burden onto the consumer is legal but not right. While this is an isolated event/company, this is the attitude I was accustomed to living in Minneapolis. I wouldnít say this is the rule but definitely isnít the exception either.

I suppose ďSub ServiceĒ is not in Sun Countryís vocabulary.

They saved some money by refunding the passengers instead of making other arrangements to fly them home. That decision looks to be much, much more expensive with the P.R. fallout.

Tacky, real tacky. They should have hired a charter if they didn't have a plane/crew if their own available. It would have been cheaper in the long run.

Apparently they don't have any arrangements with other airlines to cross-book during IROPs?

Not sure any of the LCCs do that. At least the pax paid a low price.

That would be a hit to the bottom line and management bonuses

Considering itís a hometown airline, this will probably bite them.

Speaking of SY, how do they plan to grow with such low pay and only one base. I can only see them growing as announced if they open up DFW and raise their pay.

Absolutely pathetic. This is when you pick up the phone. He was at G4. SY Sub-serviced for us numerous times. We have Op Specs to CUN etc. Or call Miami Air. DO SOMETHING!

Wtf? I mean absolutely stulid.

Looks like the ULCC transition is going to plan.
Step 1. Lay off a bunch of employees to save a few pennies
Step 2. **** off a bunch of passengers and their families/friends
Step 3. Get roasted by the media, Play dumb then try to do too little too late.

No, this was cheaper. The public has a short memory for this kind of thing.

This will change when a politicianís relative or major campaign donor is left on the tarmac, to their own design, of a banana republic.

No it won't. You remind me of those that said United was 'doomed' after the Dr Dao/dead bunny/dead dog/dead dog/dead dog incident(s). The public has Alzheimer's.
