Any recommendations for a quality sweater now that Fall is approaching?

Thanks,
Jim

There's a black commando sweater with captain epps on it in the JFK standby room. It's been there for at least 4 months so I'm pretty sure no one is coming back for it.

You canít get either right now. Neiderís email said you could get something similar or like the old V-Neck wool sweater if you wanted.

I always interpreted it as a happy soul leaving every part of LGA behind (for DFW maybe).

A. Wait for the uniform issue option from M&H.

B. Get an Army or Navy issue black commando sweater (available from clothing sales or third party)

C. Beat up a SkyWest kid and take his stupid looking commando sweater.

So...... FM1 says you MAY wear the Jacket over the commando sweater during the winter months. Has anyone done this? It seems like it may look a little funny with the sweater then the jacket over it.

If you wear the sweater are required to still wear the jacket? I can find anything in FM1 that answers this question.

Thanks in advance!

You can wear just the approved sweater, no need for a jacket.

FM-1 9.10 B

B. Regulation, plain, navy blue, v-neck sweater may be worn under the uniform jacket.

Thatís what I go with.

Could be, but thereís lots of old stuff in there. It also still says that the only approved uniform items are Twin Hill but we have an email that says otherwise, so I guess it doesnít matter. We have people running around in North Face jackets and nobody stops them. The sweater without a blazer isnít something that the CPO is worrying about.

My zipper just broke on it too. Shame, I much prefer the sweater to the jacket.

Where'd you send it so I know not to use them?

I sent it back to twinhill to get it fixed since it was still under warranty, but it was just around the time they announced we were switching uniforms. So they kept it and gave me a refund instead

So what happens when I literally juuuust ordered my M&H crap a few weeks ago, it has a historic 3 month delivery time, guaranteed to not fit, so I'll need another couple of months to send it back for replacement? I guess I come to work naked.

Wait. Which Cardigan? Cause I still wear my Twin Hill one.

M&H one with the buttons would be perfect for movie night at a New Jersey nursing home.

idk what the TH done looks like.

Regarding the M&H shirts, anyone found a solution to soften them up yet? When my GF accidentally packs one for me I feel like it's rubbing all the skin off the sides of my neck with the giant ridiculous collar.

The sweater as a stand alone is seriously one of the best thing about our uniforms. Itís just fine all winter long. Flew with a ca, or 2, or 3 who over the past two winters have worn a random white collared shirt, or none cuz it can be zipped up to the top... Plus no need to wear bar under bars. The new one might not allow the zip-up all the way to the neck.

I wouldn't wear the wings on the sweater anyways, just another thing for your seatbelt to snag on. One for the shirt, the other for the suit jacket.

Basically only see it on the older senior guys that have been around a long time. For the newer upgraded Captains, it doesn't make as much sense given that the flow rate and hiring outside of it are expected to stay steady. We are the only airline I am aware of that allows it and if you flow to AA you won't be able to use it anymore.

So, I am seeing it less and less, more usage flying through DFW lol.
