Hard 8 BBQ, it will be worth the cost of an uber. Also hit up the gas station for tacos across the street if youíre at Fairfield.

When I think of Texas bbq, Hard 8 is the place, best damn pinto beans too. Plan on smelling like mesquite when you go back to the room. If your eyes are hungry, try Bone Daddys too. If you like short shorts and big boobed Texas girls you won't go wrong there, and the food ain't bad either.

for the full hard 8 affect, I recommend skipping breakfast and eating a very light lunch. Youíre gonna need to stomach space for dinner.

There's a place called Empamundo not far from the Fairfield the shuttle will take you to that I highly recommend as well. Also, El Fenix across from the Fairfield is bang up texmex.

Am I late to the party? 10/5 DFW ATP-CTP and 10/15 Indoc. Anyone have any good timeframe on the schedule after that? Talking with friends seems like we may be sent home for an extended period of time after a few days in Indy

It's pretty much split between the Super 8, the Airport Suites, and the Wingate Indianapolis Airport.

It's pretty much split between the Super 8, the Airport Suites, and the Wingate Indianapolis Airport.

That's because of a cozy deal with the guy who owns all three hotels.

To be frank, they are all 2 star hotels at best with the "ocho" being closest to a 1 star. The suites in fact used to be a Cambria suites until they lost the name due to quality issues. However, given first-hand reports of all three hotels the Suites is consistently the best while the Ocho is the worst. The only perk to the Ocho is that they provide some meals and some crappy beer but I could not see eating the same thing every day.

My advice:

1) initially the travel department sets you up for travel, picks the hotel, etc. When that responsibility is transferred to you later, pick the Suites. It's the best of the lot.

2) Always call the hotel a couple days ahead of your arrival date to confirm the reservation. I arrived for EFPTs only to discover that the confirmation code I was given was basically worthless and they were booked due to a convention that was in town. Some phone calls were made and it was discovered a couple people didn't show up for training so I got a room anyway, but for 15 minutes there it was looking like I'd have to book another room on my own outside of town and chase down travel to pay for it.

Yes. 7-10 days just depends on how busy the travel department is

I'm in 10/15 too. Anybody else heard after Indoc we go home for ~2 MONTHS of self-study (@ $1600/mo), then back to start training; no more class dates until 2019?

I believe the $60/day is limited to the first 30 days, regardless of length of delay you have. After that it goes to min guarantee.

Most recent classes seemed to have 6-8 weeks off, based on another thread.

This is correct.

The 6-8 weeks is also correct for me, at least. I was a 9/5 hire, and I don't go back til 10/29. While I have no idea how long your specific delay will be, anticipate 6-8 weeks.

Correct. As long as you don't have some weird situation where you start right before the pay period ends. But it SHOULD be on the first pay check. And it is a part of the signing bonus. You get 1500 on your first pay check, 7500 after you complete IOE, and I THINK it's 1500 every 3 months after that.

Yes. Thereís no sim availability for if you started classes immediately, so you go home to study for awhile. Youíd get the break either way, now itís loaded up at the front so you have more consistency in training.

Would you estimate this class will return for class before or after the holidays? Iíve seen 6-8 weeks and 2-3months posted in these threads.

No idea. I got in just before the delays really started. Im not going straight through uninterrupted, but only have a week ďoffĒ max between events.

If you look around, there are some estimates posted from people as to their hire/Indoc day and they day they return for training. You could probably extrapolate from that.

Wear something you want to have on your ID pic taken in on your first day, then business 'comfortable' for the rest of it. Jeans OK. Most people wore polos and khakis or jeans. I say comfortable because they're long days sitting in a classroom.
