Iím looking for experiences from corporate operators who have done a certification process from one of the organizations mentioned above or any other one out there. Weíre currently IS-BAO Stage III, but due to an impending company buyout that has caused a couple of our pilots to leave we feel itís not the right program to continue. We fly two light jets and have three pilots with almost no hope of being able to hire a fourth full timer in the next 6-12 months. The current structure of IS-BAO requires continuous identification of SPIís as part of the deal. For our level of manpower, flight ops, and sample size thatís just not practical and we feel weíd be making up BS slides to fulfill the requirement.

Our primary concern is certifying and maintaining an SMS so that we meet the requirements for international ops should our new company require us to do so. What programs and auditors do you have experience with? If youíve used more than one and switched to another organizationís program Iím especially interested in that feedback.

We use FltPlan.comís SMS program. It fulfills the requisite terms for EU and ICAO ops and is easy for daily ops. Once the safety Officer (me, in our case) sets up the system online, the pic for each flight goes to another window in FltPlan to do the FRAT for the segment.

Previous employer used Baldwin, really a seamless outfit, they have a generic manual and SMS that can be tailored to specific needs. They are also willing to travel on-site to home office to discuss, facilitate and help with implementation.
