When it comes to time building and the regional's do they look more at a guy who built his time as a CFI or if he flew pipeline? Or does it even matter as long as you got the hours?

Regionals aren't going to care much today, because they don't look at qualifications beyond the minimum, and aren't discriminating a lot; if you're willing to work for them and have the hours, they're hiring.

If you'd asked a few years ago it would have been a different story.

That said, think about which background prepares you more to work with someone else in a teamwork or crew environment; towing a banner, or flying with a student. Which one rehearses the constant repetition of standard practices? Which one more reflects an airline cockpit?
