So, that's probably a plus for GoJets. Any input on how that will shift pilot positions?

Gojet moves out of DEN and into EWR. SKYW picks up G7's 70 seat flying and drops the 50 seat flying to us? Not sure how it'll shakeup the 3 UAX operators already in EWR.

The reactions so far seem to be...

RAH: eh
EV: hmm
C5: huh?

Ever heard of the saying - you can’t polish a turd, but you can roll it in glitter.

Nothing more than a workaround for UAL’s scope issue at hand and bringing more 175’s on the books.

Or maybe TSA can get those MRJ’s. LOL

Laugh and the world laughs with you....

Who knows?

It is not beyond reason to imagine someone buying a small regional as a core group of pilots to jump start Moxy.

Former TSA pilots could all be Moxy captains two years from now. Stranger things have happened in the 121 world.

True; stranger things have happened. However, purchasing a unionized pilot group chruns the water quite a bit. I think it would be easier for Moxy to offer slightly better pay and work rules and just poach pilots from the regionals who aren’t necessarily glued to any domicile. If anything I think the regionals will have to compete with them. Better pay, better seniority, bigger plane. No doubt Moxy will still just be another stepping stone though.

Really? You actually believe that? Horizon was unionized, IIRC, when they made the big 80 for 80 for 80 offer, offering to fly the MD 80s that Alaska was phasing out flying 80 hours a month for $80k.

I’m not in the least anti aviation union, but none of the unions have really done enough at the regional level to have earned the undying love and support of the regional pilots. Had the unions at the majors - ALPA or whoever - actually been willing to push their companies at all for flow from regionals represented by the same union at the regional level, it might have been different. But heck, look at the pay scales historically and even now. Too often they haven’t even ‘wasted’ their negotiating capital to insure decent starting pay for their own first year FOs, far less to help a career boost for their regional junior chapters.

What that means is that those unions largely have all the loyalty of the regional union members that they have earned, which frankly ain’t much. I’d be amazed if a small regional pilot group would Gripe a bit if someone bought the company and said they would all soon be flying A220s for Moxy for 75% of what Delta is paying their A220 crews. I bet they’d be overjoyed.

And if ALPA national griped, they’d just ask, “What have you guys done for us lately...or ever?”
