I heard one of our type rating scholarship winners filed an EEOC complaint and thus demanded to be hired following one of these expos. Anyone else hear the same?

OK, so we are giving out type rating scholarships now?

I didn't know that.

I wonder if since the person sued, they decided to cancel the program?
Liability and all....

Shaking my head....

Not sure if rumor is true but you can find the list of winners without a lot of trouble. It would be a shame if this was true, as these scholarships are pretty impressive resume bullets and a great opportunity for a lot of pilots out there trying to be competitive.

FWIW, the few scholarship winners I've met along the way from these organizations have all been sharp, enthusiastic, and extremely gracious for the opportunities.

Iím negative Facebook...is that why Iím late to the party?

Theyíre Probably not taking a lot of volunteers to PNS, just a few recruiters they hand pick.

Are we supposed to get an email or something if we successfully registered for the event?

I attempted to register at work, but when I hit submit I got an error page. Now when go to the above link, it states event registration has met or exceeded capacity.

Interview, I think it was not related to registering for the expo at all and just a coincidence

For any non-FedEx folks thinking of jumpseating on FedEx down to Mobile to get to the Expo...although that's an A300 going in there with 8 jumpseats, it fills up quick with the numerous company folks who live down in the panhandle.

It is August 19th. This was an event that required a separation ďapplicationĒ to attend outside of the normal profile on the careers page. The application page was only up for about 24 hours.

Where did you hear that? It looks like anyone with an active profile could sign up for the brief time it was online. I got the invite to the event but I also got an invite to interview shortly after signing up anyway on 5 August. Therefore I will not be attending anymore so those that do not RSVP by July 8 will free up more seats.

Hear what? I was simply saying that an active profile didnít automatically register you for a spot at the expo. You still had to apply to the expo specifically.

Fedex will be at OBAP 7/31-8/2 in LA for those that didnít get into the Pícola deal. Donít know how much a difference it makes for getting an interview but most of the recruiters are very motivated to help candidates with the process.

Does attending one of these events really improve ones chance of scoring an interview? According to the agenda it doesnít look like you get face time with a recruiter. Just more of an information session.

Every minute that you are there, you are being scrutinized and evaluated at how you interact with the fedex bigwigs, as well as the guy or girl handing out the sweet tea. The last 3 hrs will definitely bear on your being invited to interview.

Any recommended preparation? I assume practice your short intro of yourself...but beyond that itís basically ďcocktailĒ hour with a lot more pressure and not as many cocktails?

Also, I assume bring a plethora of resumes.

Finally...it says business casual. In this case, I assume that basically means donít wear a suit but shirt, tie, sport coat/blazer is desired.

Thanks!

I am sure they keep a record of who comes to these.

Myself and many others who attended the previous expos received interview invites within 6 months. I would say it is a great sign if you want to work at FedEx.

I didnít respond to the first email with a 8 July deadline but they just sent me another with a 17 July deadline. I am declining so there should be open spots coming still.

Because FedEx doesn't use the PC website anymore.
PNS is a three letter identifier for an airport in Florida.
