Hi all, I was invited to the 2019 pilot expo in PNS next month. I applied on a whim and was invited. Regional FO, no TPIC, military helicopter background, aviation 4 year degree, union committee member, company pilot recruiter. I have 0 expectation to get an interview and I’m not even sure I’m going to go to the expo. I have no application on file with FEDEX.

What should I expect? How many people get an invite to the expo? Looking at the 2018 expo thread they say it has 0 bearing on if you get an interview or any other preference. I have not seen a thread on this years expo yet.

Thanks everyone.

They seem to have a history of doing that. I volunteered at the previous two Expos and half of the folks I shook hands with didn't meet the Hiring Minimums/Requirements. Kind of seems like a waste of time for both parties, but putting your name/face in front of influential folks may eventually pay off.

This is the second instance of hearing about someone getting an invite without an app on file. Really frustrates me because I know several people that have apps on files for YEARS and can't get a peep.

Unfortunately it tells you how the system works.

It is like ordering from a Chinese restaurant, HR chooses one from column A, two from column B. It is how they prove they aren’t racist, sexist, or homophobic.

It honestly makes sense to me if theyíre trying to broaden he pool of applicants. (FWIW me PE didnít get an invite to this years expo, he went to the one last year though. Still no call).
